Frequently Asked Questions

Teeth Whitening

Does it hurt?

All of our Teeth Whitening Treatments are completely pain free! The only reason you would feel any pain during a Treatment is if you had underlying dental issues which would be causing the pain, so please do not book an appointment if you need dental work.

What if I have sensitive teeth?

We have treated clients who are prone to sensitivity who have not felt any sensitivity during or after their treatment. Our whitening agent is very gentle and for majority of people, do not cause sensitivity. We provide every client who undergoes a Teeth Whitening Treatment with an Aftercare Pack which includes a desensitising gel. This gel is a precaution and has a number of benefits including eliminating sensitivity.

Which treatment would work best for me?

There are a few things to consider when deciding what Treatment would work best for you. How stained your teeth are and what type of results you are wanting to achieve are the main two factors to take into consideration. If you have lightly stained Teeth and have had Teeth Whitening sessions in the past, you may only need the 40 Minute Express Treatment. If you have heavily stained teeth, have never had your teeth whitened and are wanting the best results you can get, the Ultra Bright Treatment is what I would recommend.

What aftercare is involved?

It is recommended to follow a ‘White Diet’ for the following 48 hours post Teeth Whitening Treatment to avoid staining your teeth. Teeth have thousands of microscopic pores which are open after a Teeth Whitening Treatment, therefore it is important to avoid dark staining food and drinks for the following two days to achieve the best result. It is also recommended to not eat for the first hour following your appointment.

Is there an age restriction?

You must be at least 16 years old to have your teeth whitened due to tooth development & sensitivity reasons.

Tooth Gems

How long do they last?

The time frame is different for everybody. Anywhere from 2-12 months is normal. Depending on how well you follow the aftercare instructions and how you look after your oral health will definitely play a role in the longevity of your gems. Even touching/playing with your gems in the first few days of them being applied can cause them to come off early. A list of thorough after care instructions are explained during your appointment and given to you to take home to ensure your gems have the best chance of lasting.

Can you remove my tooth gems?

If you are wanting your tooth gems removed, a Dental Professional can remove them for you during a clean. I do not have the tools/equipment to remove them safely. Please do not try and remove gems yourself as you could damage your teeth.

Do you have to be a certain age to have tooth gems?

There is no age minimum for tooth gems as they are completely safe for people of any age (even breastfeeding/pregnant women can have gems applied). If you are under the age of 16 a parent or guardian must sign your consent form.

I’m not sure which design to get, can you help me?

Of course! I can help create your dream tooth gem design and give you my professional opinion on what would work best with your teeth. I also have an extensive range of gem shapes, colours and sizes, as well as Opals and 18K Gold Charms that can be pre ordered.
